Introducing our March 2024 Athlete of the Month Presented by @BCMilk: Levi Burton from Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay Secondary! Levi was the co-captain of his school’s senior boys basketball team this past season. A determined and encouraging teammate, Levi played a crucial role in helping bring the GKNS team from a small community in Haida Gwaii to the 2024 BCSS 1A Boys Basketball Championship Final. The team finished as silver medalists (the highest the school has ever placed in a provincial tournament) and Levi was named a 1st Team All-Star.
Introducing our March 2024 Athletes of the Month Presented by @BCMilk: Bethany & Alicia Evans from Westsyde! The two sisters achieved a provincial title at the 2024 BCSS Girls Curling Championship this February. Their passion for the sport extends beyond competition; Bethany and Alicia volunteer regularly as coaches for the Junior Curling League at Kamloops Curling Centre, contributing positively to their community. Off the ice, they both maintain a high academic standing in school. Congratulations Bethany and Alicia!
Bonjour, Le comité exécutif de l’ASINB souhaite la bienvenue à Eric Moffatt à titre de nouveau directeur général de l’ASINB. Eric se joint à l’ASINB avec 12 années d’expérience de travail dans le département athlétique de l’Université St. Thomas ainsi qu’une expérience antérieure en tant que directeur général de Volleyball NB. Eric entrera en fonction en tant que directeur général le 8 avril 2024.
Nous tenons à remercier Allyson pour ses nombreuses contributions positives à l’ASINB au cours des 23 dernières années au sein de notre association. Elle a aidé à guider et à diriger notre association de manière positive et son leadership et son expertise nous manqueront beaucoup.
Allyson a accepté de travailler avec Eric pendant la transition. Elle est très confiante qu’il sera un excellent directeur général de l’ASINB. Le comité exécutif est confiant dans cette transition ainsi que dans les habiletés d’Eric à défendre et appuyer les sports scolaires de la province du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Hello, The NBIAA Executive Committee would like to welcome Eric Moffatt as the new Executive Director of the NBIAA. Eric joins the NBIAA with 12 years of experience working in the athletics’ department at St. Thomas University as well as past experience as the Executive Director of Volleyball NB. Eric will commence his role as Executive Director on April 8th, 2024.
We want to thank Allyson for her many positive contributions to the NBIAA over her 23 years with our association. She has helped to guide and direct our association in a positive way and her leadership and expertise will be greatly missed.
Allyson has agreed to work with Eric during the transition and is very confident that he will be an excellent Executive Director of the NBIAA. The Executive Committee is confident in the transition plan and knows that Eric will be an excellent advocate and supporter of high school sports in the province of New Brunswick.

Congratulations to our February athletes of the month Kate and Aiden
Kate is a true leader at this school every day, but last month she led our Senior AAA women’s basketball team to their first Final 12 appearance in 15 years. In an absolute must-win Sectional Championships semi-final match, the team were down 21 points in the first half and Kate led the march to victory by scoring 16 of her 19 second half points, a team record. With 6 assists and 5 rebounds, the team pulled off a spectacular buzzer victory and headed to TD Station. After the Final 12, she represented the North-East Conference at the All Star Game held at Rothesay High School.
This athlete is a multi-sport athlete for SSHS. Golf, football, hockey and volleyball keep this young man active in Spartans Green and White. This young man has the potential to change any game he plays in. His athletic abilities make him a threat on the field and the ice. Whether it’s a sudden speed rush to beat a defender, or a quick shot, this player gets their opponent’s attention. He plays like a power striker should, with heavy hitting, soft hands and the ability to find the bottom of the net. He currently leads the team in points and penalty minutes. He plays for the love of the game and is a great ambassador for the Spartans.
Congratulations to both athletes and thank you to the coaches and staff for taking the time to recognize these outstanding students.

Introducing our Feb. 2024 Athlete of the Month Presented by @BCMilk: Moriah Jansen from King’s Christian! Due to her school not having enough numbers for a girls team, Moriah has been the captain and starting PG for the King’s senior boys basketball team. Moriah is also the assistant coach for the King’s gr. 6/7 girls basketball team, and an accredited basketball referee. She is described as a positive example and mentor to younger basketball players at her school. Congratulations Moriah on being our Athlete of the Month!
Introducing our Feb. 2024 Athlete of the Month Presented by @BCMilk: Markus Westdorp from Kwantlen Park! Markus is a remarkable student-athlete and a true leader in both sports and academics. While playing on the senior basketball team, he has also made time to coach the gr. 8 boys basketball team for the past 2 years. Markus’ determination and positive attitude are what make him stand out. He is described as the first to be at practice and last to leave school after completing his extracurriculars. Congratulations Markus!

Sign up below for one, a few or all six sessions! The sessions are 30-45 minutes in duration taking place at 10 am & 1:30 pm on March 26, 27, and 28. Teachers, share with all of your students in class, OR students may seek out a quiet study spot and join us individually.

It’s a Presidential Roundtable! Two former OFSAA presidents reflect on their own personal experiences as a student-athlete, coach, convenor and as president within the organization.
Margie McGill and Ian Press share insight on their leadership style and how it led to their own success in the president’s role. What do they see as current challenges facing school sport? Who do they put on their own “OFSAA Mount Rushmore”?
As expected, both do a wonderful job of bringing to light the values of school sport in a fitting discussion as we celebrate 75 years of OFSAA.
