Athlete of the Month – May 2025

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the ASAA Female Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Alberta Milk, for May 2025: Brooklyn Munro!

A true force on the field and a team captain, Brooklyn is described as an absolute beast who never misses a tackle and always gives 110%! Her exceptional leadership has been instrumental in her team’s incredible three-year provincial championship streak!

Brooklyn’s talent extends far beyond one sport! She was named MVP in badminton, placed impressively at zones for track & field (and is heading to provincials next week!), and her ringette team also won nationals outside of ASAA.

Brooklyn is an incredibly dedicated and well-rounded multi-sport athlete, and her team feels incredibly lucky to have her! Well done, Brooklyn!

Congratulations to our May athletes of the month, Shaniece and Fred.

Shaniece finishes up her fourth season with the Harrison Trimble High School track team. Shaniece is a dedicated athlete who trains sprint year round. In February, she broke the New Brunswick under-20 indoor 60m record and has since been recruited to study at the University of Manitoba in the fall. Shaniece will be an athlete to watch when she competes with her Trojans teammates on June 7 at the ASINB Track and Field Championships.

Fred was a player and leader for the Leo Hayes rugby team during the four years he spent with the team. He helped the team through his technical performances, but he also taught the sport to many new players in training. This season, he’s shown he’s determined to lead his team to a good season, while staying positive with his teammates, even in difficult times. Fred has also played a key role on our football team over the past three years. He is a great example for our high school community through his leadership abilities and welcoming students from all backgrounds.

Congratulations to both athletes and thank you coaches and staff for taking the time to recognize these amazing students.
