ASAA Female Athlete of the Month Presented by Alberta Milk: February 2025 – Malayha Stevens!
A true force on the court and a leader in every aspect of her school life, Malayha Stevens is our ASAA Female Athlete of the Month for February 2025, proudly presented by Alberta Milk!
Malayha, the captain of the YKCS Senior Girls Basketball team (23-24 & 24-25), has consistently showcased her exceptional talent and dedication, setting the bar high for her teammates. Her contributions to the team are nothing short of remarkable:
Dominant on the Hardwood: Malayha’s impact on the basketball court is undeniable. She was named Season MVP in 2023-24 and has consistently led her team in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, and steals.
Impressive Stats: Her stats speak volumes:
23-24 Season: 12.3 points per game, 13.9 rebounds per game, 2.9 steals per game, 2.3 blocks per game.
24-25 Season (so far): 13.8 points per game, a staggering 17.1 rebounds per game, 3.1 steals per game, and 2.5 blocks per game.
Multi-Sport Star: Malayha’s athleticism extends beyond basketball. She’s a starting middle on the volleyball team, leading in blocks, and has competed at the Provincial Track and Field level in the 400m.
Leadership and Academics: Malayha’s influence isn’t limited to sports. She’s a strong leader both on and off the court, actively participating in school council and athletics, all while maintaining her status as an honors student.
Malayha embodies the spirit of a true athlete, demonstrating incredible skill, dedication, and leadership. We are thrilled to recognize her outstanding achievements as our ASAA Female Athlete of the Month.

Precision, dedication, and a lifetime of passion – Oliver Horsman has set the bar high as our ASAA Male Athlete of the Month for February 2025, proudly presented by Alberta Milk!
Oliver’s exceptional curling skills have propelled his mixed team to an incredible achievement: their third consecutive North Central Zone title! Remaining undefeated throughout the competition, Oliver showcased not only his remarkable talent but also his unwavering sportsmanship.
What makes Oliver’s success even more impressive? He’s been honing his skills on the ice since the age of 6! That’s years of dedication and practice that have clearly paid off.
Dominant Curler: Oliver’s consistent success and precision curling were key to his team’s undefeated run and Zone title.
Lifetime Dedication: His commitment to curling since childhood demonstrates a true passion for the sport.
Exemplary Sportsmanship: Oliver’s conduct on and off the ice exemplifies the values of fair play and respect.
